1. Name
The Club shall be known as the Wigtownshire Amateur Radio Club.
2. RSGB
The Club shall be affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain.
3. The Objects of the Club
The objects of the Club shall be the development of the amateur radio interests of its members.
4. AGM
The Annual General Meeting shall be on the third Thursday of September each year, or within a few weeks of that date.
The Secretary shall notify members in writing at least 14 days prior to the meeting.
The business of the Annual General Meeting shall be:
- To receive a report from the Committee as to the general condition and progress of the Club on the previous year
- To receive a balance sheet and accounts of the Club
- To review the annual subscriptions
- To elect the office bearers and members of the Committee.
5. The Office Bearers of the Club
The Office Bearers of the Club shall consist of the President, Secretary and Treasurer. The President may be elected for a second consecutive year but would not be eligible for re-election as President until one year from the date of his retirement.
6. The Committee
- The Committee shall consist of the Office Bearers of the Club and four ordinary members.
- The Committee shall meet when requested by a Committee member.
- The Committee will adopt a quorum of four, one of whom must be an Office Bearer.
- The Chairman shall have the casting vote.
7. Committee Vacancies
The Committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy which may occur during its term of office and co-opt additional members if found necessary.
8. Rules
The Constitution and Rules of the Club may be altered only at an AGM or at a Special General Meeting. The interpretation of the Rules shall be the duty of the Committee and its ruling on any point shall be final.
9. SGM
A Special General Meeting may be called either by the Committee or by 50% of the membership on application to the Secretary in writing at least 28 days in advance of the meeting. The Secretary shall notify members in writing at least 14 days prior to such a meeting.
10. Constitution
Any proposed amendment to the Constitution and Rules may either be proposed by the Committee or must be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least 28 days prior to the AGM or SGM. The proposal must be signed by the proposer and seconder and displayed within the Club premises, and in addition the Secretary shall notify members of the proposed amendment in writing, at least 14 days prior to such a meeting.
11. Subscriptions
Any member whose subscription is not paid to the Treasurer by the 31st of December in the current year shall become a lapsed member and shall no longer be eligible to attend meetings or any other Club function.
12. Visitors
Visitors to the Club will be permitted to attend three meetings; thereafter, anyone holding an amateur license will be obliged to take out membership of the Club to attend further meetings. Non-licensed partners of members are welcome to attend meetings and do not have to join the Club, but would have no voting rights.
13. Winding up of the Club
In the event of the Club ceasing to exist as an active amateur radio Club, all the equipment and accessories purchased for an on behalf of the members shall be gifted to the Radio Amateur Invalid and Blind Club and/or the Cheshire Homes. Any monies remaining in the Club funds shall be gifted to a local charity to be decided by the remaining Committee members.
